The Purple Tiger October 2, 2008

I was 17 working at McDonalds. At the time, one of the district supervisors or whatever would come in to the store every now and then and once called me “Tiger”, kind of like “sport” or “champ.” Well one night while working the drive-thru my dad pulls up in an unfamiliar car and I’m like “Whose car is that?” and he tells me its my car. I was damn excited, it was like 9pm but it looked like a cool enough, black car. The next day, in sunlight, I saw the car. It was purple. I was kind of scared at first, but thought it to be pretty funny. I decided I wanted to put racing numbers on the side and top of the car and started a hunt for a locl vinyl-sticker specialist. Harder than you would think but I eventually found a place in Freeport, NY. When I went there I changed my mind and decided I wanted racing stripes instead, and that I wanted to name my car. When I gave my final order, the guy just looked at me and laughed.
This car was eventually replaced with my grandma’s Chrysler Cirrus (a story for another time) and the Tiger was passed to my younger brother. My younger brother continued to drive this car in my home town and I would often get calls from people who saw the car asking if I was home. I believe the legend of The Purple Tiger will forever live on in Plainview, NY.
Sadly, The Purple Tiger was taken off the street and donated to charity in August of 2008.
